Reconciliation

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered every Saturday beginning at 3:30 p.m.

During the seasons of Advent and Lent we offer a Reconciliation Service with individual confessions. Priests from other parishes in the local area are present to hear confessions.

If it has been a while since you have been to Confession, do not be afraid! The Priest will guide you through this Sacrament of healing.

First Reconciliation for Children

Children in the second grade normally receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time prior to receiving their First Holy Communion. Older students who have not yet received the Eucharist for the first time are placed with their peers in age appropriate settings in the Religious Ed program.  Preparation for this Sacrament is a year long process and students must be registered in Religious Education classes at Blessed Sacrament.  First Reconciliation is celebrated in the spring of each year.  Preparation for the Sacrament begins with enrollment in our Religious Education program.  Please contact the Religious Education director Darlene Wegner at darlene.wegner@gmail.com

First Reconciliation for Adults

Adults prepare for reconciliation by parcticpating in the RCIA program.  RCIA is a process of discernment and education for unbaptized adults who wish to become Catholic. Those baptized in another Christian faith may also participate in this process to come into full communion with the Catholic church. Adults who complete RCIA receive First Reconciliation several weeks before the Easter vigil Mass.
